What is a Haiku?

Synergy--Donald Stevanov
Douglas County, Kansas

A Haiku is a three unrhymed line poem that consists of 17 syllables; the first line, 5 syllables; the second line 7; and the third, 5.

It generally refers to nature, a particular event happening at the moment, and an attendant emotion or feeling, often the most fragile kind.
